first reaction is the blocks were smaller than expected. but immediately recognized that this is a compact but engaging - from ages from 2 - 200! - puzzle/game which can be played solitaire or with a group of friends. mentally challenging for the small fry and could be played tactically like chess.
Kids love them and I have always enjoyed stacking stones in the forest or the river's edge. I was right, the kids enjoy it too.
