We used this carrier to carry my 45 pound son during a road trip to Grand Teton National Park, Yellowstone, and Glacier National Park. It took a little bit to get the carrier comfortable for my wife and I, but once we figured it out, it was definitely better than the previous 2 carriers we've tried. I was impressed with the quality of the materials and how solid the construction is. I highly recommend this carrier, it is well worth the price!
We are happy with the product. Very expensive though as a Canadian with the exchange, shipping and duty (cost us $600 CAD!). Wish there was a Canadian Distibutor
So disappointed. This is my second freeloader. The first was great, all be it slightly short on my hips. When I got the updated model I was very happy with quality, and fit. Traveled to Glacier National Park on a family trip. Our first true hike was Avalanche trail, roughly 6 miles (including trail that leads to avalanche trail). We made it to the lake, no problems. 0.5 to 1 mile into the return hike SNAP! The shoulder strap adjustment clip broke in the middle. Thank god I was able to Jimmy rig a know solution. My daughter is 74 pounds with he AFO braces on, well within the max 80 pound max weight. She has cerebral palsy and it would have been a struggle to get her out without my quick fix. We were not able to conduct 2 more days of hiking however because of this.
Item good with tall toddler, but no response to basic inquiries. Think buyers need to know there will be no support.
Unfortunately the bar at the bottom of the pack was very uncomfortable and dug into the back/hips despite trying to wear it many ways. Also the $40 dollars lost shipping it back was a bummer.....especially for a $350 pack.....
