What is the minimum waist size for the small?
The waist belt best fits individuals between 25"- 55". Thanks!
How large of a waist does the carrier accommodate for the person carrying the child? Do you offer waist belt extenders?
The Freeloader accomodates waists up to 55". Currently we do not offer waist belt extenders.
My daughter is 4’6 and weighs 90 pounds. Would we be able to use the large size carrier with her?
Thank you for your question. Your daughter should be able to use the Freeloader comfortably. The height limit in our Freeloader is 50", although we do offer custom straps for children over 50". As far as weight, we are tested and certified up to 80 pounds but know many families that use it well beyond that point. As far as which size Freeloader to get, that depends on the adult doing the carryings measurements. There is a great video under FAQ's on the website with step by step on how to measure yourself. LEt us know if you have any further questions. Thanks.
My son is only 63 pounds but is 53 inches tall. He has CP and this looked like just the answer to what we need! So excited to find it, and with an 80lb limit! Awesome! But 53 inches? What is the 50 inch height limit based on? My son is able to support his upper body just fine. I am wondering if there is any way this could work for us? What do you think? Thank you so much for your help!
Hello!
Thanks for the question. There is an option where we can extend the straps which allows for a taller child. We do the customization in house and charge an additional $30. If you are interested in exploring this option please email us and we can walk you through it!

Can this carrier be strapped on and a child secured in place by the wearer alone? Or does a second person need to assist the wearer?
Thanks for reaching out. The child is able to be strapped into the carrier by a single adult! Please check out the video here.
We want one that fits both my husband and I. Measuring, I’d be at 16” and he’d be at 20”. We were considering going middle of the line and getting a medium, but I want to ensure I won’t be uncomfortable wearing it. Currently our 4&1/2 year old is 40 lbs and I wear here frequently in her infant carrier (ErgoBaby) without much issue, but she’s at the max. Any advice on sizing recommendations?
Hello and thanks for reaching out! The large is versatile enough to be used by a smaller sized individual. It continues to allow for the correct distribution of weight. We would defintely reccommend you go with the large. We do have a program where we offer 50% off of the second Freeloader should a husband and wife desire to purchase two! Just reach out to contact@myfreeloader.com and we will get you the proper discount code!
Thanks,

Hi Is the back strap/clip (on the child harness) adjustable to slide down to be positioned mid back/torso for example instead of up by the shoulders- I'm scared my child with low tone would "slump" out of it and fall off. Thanks
Yes - the back horizontal strap has the ability to slide up and down depending on the need and height of the child. Thanks for your question!

My son has cerebral palsy and is getting a bit heavy (~50 lbs) for riding on my shoulders. What are the "special needs discounts" your site says to ask about?
Please email us at contact@myfreeloader.com and we can discuss the discount!
What is the difference between the small medium and large?
The sizes are based on the length of the wearer's torso. To get an optimum fit and get the most comfort from your Freeloader Carrier, measure your spine using our size guide. (Look for a teal button on this page titled "Size Guide" or visit this link: https://myfreeloader.com/pages/size-guide)
Fantastic! We are currently stationed overseas for 3 years and trying to travel as much as possible. With a 2 year old this can be a challenge but the Freeloader carrier has been a game changer! It is super easy to take on flights and store in the overhead compartments. It is also a breeze to wear even when the child is not in the carrier which is my biggest complaint for the other bulky child carriers. My daughter also seems so much more free in the Freeloader whereas in the other carriers she seemed so confined and seemed annoyed that her arms were often pinned in. My only wish is that is had a thin lightweight bag to pack it for taking in on the plane to contain the straps. We LOVE it and are excited to take it on our many adventures to come!
The freeloader allows us to carry our 5yo (and freeing up our arms) after having major leg surgery. 5 months on we still use the carrier for mainly bushwalking because she just loves getting out into nature and her legs get so tired. So grateful for the freeloader!
We bought the carrier for a 2 week trip to several national parks. During the first week we hiked over 50 miles with a 40 pound kid in the carrier. We wouldn't have been to do all we did if it wasn't for the carrier. There are a few options I'd like added (water bladder storage, more storage in general) but otherwise it is a great product. It folds up easy for transport and the kids love riding in it.
We have a 60# 4 year old and were a little skeptical, but this carrier definitely did the job! We hiked up Glacier Point to Avalance Lake this carrier was a amazing! Our 4 year old never takes a nap, but was so worn out from all the walking she did that she even fell asleep in it! Worth every penny!!! On the down side, one of my older children forgot to grab the freeloader sometime after we went through security and right before we got on our plane. So unfortunately lost and found has still not found it and some else is probably enjoying now!
Arrived very quickly. Very impressed with the service. It has enabled us to go for family walks in the great outdoors with our disabled daughter that we were not able to do before.
